Around the Wagner House Lately

So what has been going on in our family lately, huh?

Well, Kent and I went to Scottsdale, AZ last weekend. It wasn't quite the "get away weekend" that everyone loves with their spouse, but it was fun. Kent was finishing up a dental ce course there and was gone from 7 am- 6 pm. It was nice for me though, because I got to sleep in every morning until about 10 and then would meet him for lunch. It was fabulous! I did get most of our Christmas shopping done though and so that makes it a pretty productive weekend, despite all the extra hours I used to sleep.

Kent and his dad had their first big open house at the dental office. It has been a little hectic around our home the last few weeks getting ready for this and I am so glad that it is over, finally! Kent has been working pretty late trying to get things organized for this and so I am glad that he can hopefully make it home before the boys are in bed and we can have a dad around the house again. It was a success though and seemed to stir up some more business for them, which is always good...especially right now when things are getting tough financially!

The boys are as busy as ever. Caleb is doing really well in school and loves his teacher. I let him ditch school on Monday because he woke up "pretending" to have a stomach ache. And then when I got it out of him that he wasn't really sick, he just said "we haven't been able to hang out since you were gone, can I just stay home with you today"? That was enough... I remember my mom not really fighting me on those days when I just didn't want to go to school. She would just let me stay with her. And so, Caleb hung out with us all day. But the freedom soon turned into boredom and around noon he was asking when his cousins would be home from school. He wanted to play with someone, but all his friends were at school. He hasn't asked again this week to stay home. I guess I didn't do a very good job at entertaining him!

Luke is being grumpy this week. Seriously... there is something wrong with that munchkin and I need to figure it out, quick! I am sure there is something stemming from facts that Kent has been gone a lot lately and he has just had grouchy pregnant mom to deal with & we were gone over the weekend. But I hope that it's just that. I had to warn his pre-k teacher today to watch out-- he is in a mood! Of course I love him, but I have to be honest... besides having male pms, Luke is the leader in pre-k this week and has been able to bring snacks of his choice. Today is was marshmellows and bananas. Yum!

Josh is really sweet lately! I think he grew while we were gone because both Kent and I noticed that he looked bigger. That makes me sad. He loves to drop things, on purpose of course, and say "uh-oh". He waves bye and has started to cuddle again. Just a little bit, but I will take it. Since he has almost always been the best sleeper that I have had, he doesn't cuddle-- he just goes straight to bed. And so he has never really ever fallen asleep on me since baby time. But last week at the park, he cuddled up to my shoulder and zonked out! I loved it... I should have taken him home and just put him down for his nap, but decided to eat it up and just let him sleep on me instead. Too cute!

I HOPE THAT WE DON'T FORGET THIS

On Sunday, November 9th we had stake conference. Elder Kikuchi from the Seventy was here presiding. He was wonderful and it was inspiring to listen to him share his testimony of the Savior. But at the end of conference, Kent took the boys up to the stand to shake Elder Kikuchi's hand. And since they were wearing their new suits for the first time, they looked like little missionaries. Elder Kikuchi shook their hand and then whispered something in their ears. Then he did the pinky promise with each of them. They told us later that they had promised him that they would stay worthy to serve a mission some day when they are 19. Wow! Isn't that great? I hope that they will always remember that promise that they made to this general authority, but not just him... I hope that these little boys of mine will always live their life worthy to fulfill their committment to their Heavenly Father by serving Him on their missions to prepare them to serve Him the rest of their lives. So here are the pictures from that day of our little future Elder Wagners.

Josh was screaming inside the house while I was taking their pictures on the porch.
He just looks cute!

That is so sweet of Brother Kicuchi(?) I love the boys in their suits, you will have to remind them of this when they are 16.

What a memorable story. Your boys will love that. My mom has always told the story of Pres Kimball's wife kissing my forehead when I was a baby and I've always thought it was so special. Your family is so cute! You must be sooo busy. I'm glad you got a nice get away. So, have you found out what you're having yet? And, when are you due??
