I think her feelings were hurt!

Well yesterday I had my first eye-opening experience with handling a girl. I have had 4 baby boys and none of them have ever done this... is it a sign that she is going to be very emotional (like her mother!)?

Here is what happened:
Jace, being the mean older brother already, threw an empty bottle at Eden's head. Granted it hurt and any baby would cry. I get that. I comforted her and she stopped crying and was fine. But for about 5 minutes after she had stopped crying, she whimpered every few seconds. I just held her and was so surprised that she was still affected by what had happened to her. Is this what I have to look forward too?

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://wagnerfamilyofboys.blogspot.com/2011/01/oh-my-i-think-her-feelings-were-hurt.html' title='Oh My... She is already 3 months old and I can't believe it. I received a text message today from my niece teasing me that I need to update my blog... and she was right! It's been a while and I really should have posted something sooner. We are so blessed to have this little girl in our home. She is adored by all of us. Kent started calling her princess shortly after she was born and the nickname has stuck. Joshy even calls her "Princess" when he is talking to her. It's so cute!

She has been such an easy baby so far. I have to say she does take after her mom in atleast one aspect: She loves to sleep! She has basically been sleeping through the night since she was born and even now sleeps for 12-13 hours at night. I love her for that!

She loves to smile and will get this little grin on her face when you talk to her. She is already trying to talk back. She coo's at gurgles. I think she is going to be a typical girl in the fact that she loves to talk too.

Luke has taken a very special interest in her. He comments on how cute she looks in her outfits and what a pretty baby she is. And just this past Sunday, I put a brown bow in her hair and he said "that bow doesn't look right, don't you have another color"? It was the same color as her hair and he wanted the bow to stick out more. Too funny!

We are all enjoying our new little addition and could not even imagine life without our little princess. Besides having a girl now in our home, the rest of life seems to be about the same. Kent is teaching seminary again this year, I am back to my teaching yoga classes, and the boys are as energetic as ever --- life is just good.

Caleb and Luke have recently developed a serious passion for football. They spend hours during the week playing outside with friends and Kent. They got real BYU football jersey uniforms from Santa this year and Luke wears his daily. He gets home from school and changes into his pads and helmet, ready for some tackles- he says. They also have an infatuation with the Colts (because of former BYU wide receiver Austin Collie). The boys got a Colts jersey shirt fron their Grandma for Christmas and Luke has now worn his for the past 3 school days. I told him that he cannot weat it again tomorrow. I am sure his teacher thinks I never do laundry! My living room has turned into a training base where passes are thrown, routes are run and play action never ceases! It's fun most days, except for the occasional banging on my walls and tackles that were a bit too hard.

It's a good life though being a mom of 4 boys and a little princess.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://wagnerfamilyofboys.blogspot.com/2011/01/she-is-not-just-girl-shes-princess.html' title='She is Not Just a Girl... I am having a girl! Unbelievable, huh? I might have to change my blog name to wagnerfamilyofboysandonespoiledlittleprincess!

We are all thrilled to have a little girl, especially Caleb and Luke. Caleb said that if I was having another boy that he is going to faint. Kent and I are still in a little state of shock, I think. We just look at each other and smile, thinking... really, a girl? That is going to be so different. We are determined though that if she is not bleeding- then there is no need to cry. Is that going to work on a girl? Hmmm... or will their feelings just get hurt? Our boys get sad/mad, but by the time that you are ready to talk to them about it- they are over it and back outside playing with the one who caused all the commotion. I am excited to finally get some pink in our house though- and it will open up a whole new world of shopping! Yea!

I have some ultrasound pics, and will scan those for my next post! We went up to St. George for a little church concert- Nashville Tribute. We have loved their music since one of my young women introduced me to the band. They are amazing! If you haven't heard them, buy their CDs. They are coming out with a new Tribute to Missionaries soon, which was part of the concert. They are so talented!

The concert was at Tuacahn. Thank goodness we brought blankets and sweat shirts... it got so cold & windy. But nothing that a little snuggle and 2 cups of hot chocolate couldn't fix :)

We had a great time! Thanks Krista for watching them! What are we going to do when you go on your mission? Plus, who is going to want to watch 5 kids? Hopefully someone!

Surround Yourself with Greatness

So, Caleb has been reading this book given to him by Grandpa Wagner on his baptism day. Kent had already read the book, but Caleb now has his own copy. Well, he was reading it this afternoon in the car and comes to this part and says, "I wish I could be like that". He then read what he thought was pretty cool about Chad Lewis.

This is during the time when Chad's father was in the hospital, right before his mission.

I am impressed with this boy once again!

For the most part, I think this little 8 year old boy does a pretty good job at showing us gratitude. He is very reliable, trustworthy and dependable. I really couldn't do it without him. Even though he did say to me, a while after Jace was born, "mom I don't think you should have any more babies. I don't think I can take care of one more". But, he is excited about this new little one coming and probably doesn't even remember saying that. But-

When I hear him pray that he and his brothers will grow up to be good missionaries, when I see him play with his little brothers, and when I still get a kiss & a hug every night with an "I love you Mom"... that is all the gratitude I need.

I am Pregnant again! AGAIN?

Yup... it's true! There is another baby on the way= 5!

And the #1 question that is on your mind: Did we plan this?

Yes and No. Allow me to explain. I had some complications after Josh (#3) that the doctors told us we would have a more difficult time getting pregnant, so if we wanted more- we should have them sooner rather than later. So we began trying for #4 and 8 months later, we got pregant with Jace. I was thinking, it will take another 8 months or so to get pregnant- thinking it would be a good time around Sept or Oct to find out we are pregnant. But low and behold, 1 month later- Congratulations, we are pregnant! haha... It's funny how things turn out that way.

Here is my first ultrasound of our little grain of rice (5 weeks ago at 7 weeks). We have advanced to about the size of a kidney bean now at 10 weeks. I am 12 weeks though now- almost!

And the 2nd most common question, how am I feeling? I am ok. I don't barf like other women, I just feel like I want to all day. There are certain smells and things that really bother me, but for the most part I am just tired. I do however- hate the smell, feel, and sight of veggie straws, yuck! My kids love them and Jace wants to eat them all day long, but I gag everytime I have to open the bag and pour them out. I don't touch them, but I am getting ill just thinking about it right now.

We are all really excited now, hoping for a girl but will be "ok" if we have yet, another boy! I am actually expecting to see what I have always seen when the time comes to find out. But that is ok! The kids don't like my name for a girl anyhow!

I have gained 4 pounds already- yea! Sad... but I have no one to blame but myself. All I want is sherber, sprite, pie, cookies, bread, carbs carbs carbs! I am hoping to start eating a little healthier soon. I think the only vegetables I have eaten have been in the sushi that I am craving. Yes, I eat sushi when I am pregnant. I figure- Japanese women do it and have had babies for centuries. I love it and won't give it up. Plus, I need to eat better right?

So- now the world knows: The Wagner's are crazy, but are thrilled about the new adventure in their lives!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://wagnerfamilyofboys.blogspot.com/2010/03/i-am-pregnant-again-again.html' title='I am Pregnant again! (2 weeks ago now) I took Jace into his pediatrician last Thursday morning, because that previous night was terrible. Jace was diagnosed with asthma about a month ago and has been getting all the treatments with his breathing machine and singulair at night. Well, Wednesday night when I got home from my activity, he was coughing and really struggling to breath. I "slept" in his room that night giving him treatments every 4 hours and sitting on the floor in the shower to breathe in the steam as my hot water heater was drained twice that night. I was just trying to keep him alive basically until I saw the doctor the next morning. Looking back, I should have just taken him to the ER- but I didn't know and/or feel like it at 2 am. Anyhow... when we saw the doctor, Jace's pulse ox was lower than 93 (95 -100 is good) and so the doctor told me he is admitting him into the hospital. He called an ambulance to take him. I was freaking out, crying, scared, worried, etc... I had Josh and Luke with me, so fortunately I was able to get my sister in law Erin to come get them from me so that I could go with Jace immediately to the hospital. I ended up not taking the ambulance for him though. The emt's came and strapped his little carseat to the stretcher and took him downstairs. Once outside, I asked them if I could just drive him myself. I had to sign a waiver, but it was worth the $5000 ride. He was breathing and would make the 10 minute drive with our without an ambulance.

We spent the entire day in ER waiting for a room on the pediatrics floor. And around 7 pm, we moved up. And it was there that we remained until Tuesday afternoon. I am getting again just thinking about it. 5 days and nights in the hospital! Jace was on oxygen until Sunday, just trying to keep his pulse ox above 90. I would drop to the low 80's or high 70's in a matter of seconds without his nose piece. The doctor told us that he wouldn't be released to go unless he could maintain a 94 during the day and a 92 at night. Jace's white blood cell counts were very high and so the doctor knew that there was some type of infection in his lungs even though his chest x-ray came back negative for RSV. We were told that he was at the start of a viral phenomnia.

We were finally able to come home on Tuesday, thank goodness! Jace is feeling so much better and we are both happy to be home. The hospital is a miserable place to be! I know that the nurses are nice and all that, but here is what I hated about being there:

1. BORING

2. No privacy

3. Asleep? Who cares? We need to get his blood pressure taken. Really, at 2 am? Leave the kid alone!

4. Bad food

5. Too much TV

Gratefully though... all the nurses were extremely nice and very helpful. They helped Jace get better and that is the most important thing!

Kent took some pictures of him with his IV and oxygen, I will get them off his phone later so that you can all see what a little trooper we have!

No Cavity Club

I have been working on some dental office stuff, for Dr. Kent's "No Cavity Club". Just thought they were super cute! I have tried twice to have a little photo shoot with Josh, but he does not want his picture taken right now! I will try again with him this week... and Caleb feels left out that he doesn't have a logo. So I will do that too. But for now, here are our 2 poster children for the No Cavity Club- Luke & Jace.

And I did finish one for Caleb and Josh. They are so cute. Too bad Joshy has a huge cavity in his mouth! Kent doesn't want to deal with that, so we have to pay for dentistry! I need to call the pediodontist for him.

Joshy's Sleep Rules

So, since Josh has been potty trained... he has been waking up at 5 am, not wanting to go back to bed. But the past 2 days, there has been a break through! He has been getting up still, but will go back to bed and sleep/ stay quiet until his clock says 7:00 am! I made these little sleep rules and they are working. It's been a good week process, but I think that we are in the home stretch with him. He went about 3 days without his favorite movies, toys, and chocolate milk!

Movies: Thomas, Cars and Monsters Inc.

Toys: Thomas trains & Buzz

But when he did it right, it was a party that morning! He got high-5s, kisses, hugs, movies, chocolate milk, and a treat before breakfast. He thought that was pretty cool and now understands what his rewards are for following his sleep rules. He is so cute, he sleeps with his sleep rules in his bed.

Maybe there is something in the Book of Mormon that can help me

Oh, my sweet Caleb! I am so impressed with this little 8 year old of mine!

Last week while driving home from school I asked him, like I always do, how school was that day. He takes a deep breath and fighting back tears begins to tell me that right at the end of school things went wrong. A girl in his class thought that Caleb was laughing at her, which he told her that he was not laughing at her. She got upset, told her friends and then a little boy came up to him and pulled his hair. Another girl, defending Caleb was punched in the stomach! They were all crying and feeling very upset, understandably.

I told him that I was sorry for what had happened and asked him what he wanted to do about it? By now, we were at home and talking in the kitchen. He thought about it for a minute and said "maybe there is something in the Book of Mormon that could help me". I sat there, completely overwhelmed at the sweet little boy that I have in my home. I had not even thought to look for an answer there... I know - mother of the year award- again.... not for me! I thought I was the one who is supposed to be the teacher here! But I was taught. And fortunately, I recalled that there was a similar instance like this in Alma 61, when Captain Moroni is accusing the chief governor, Pahoran of seeking power and not supplying enough men and food to their armies. But Moroni has is all wrong and this is what Pahoran said in verse 9

And now, in your epistle you have acensured me, but it mattereth not; I am not angry, but do rejoice in the greatness of your heart. I, Pahoran, do not bseek for power, save only to retain my judgment-seat that I may preserve the rights and the liberty of my people. I said that you have been falsely accused too... what should you do? And he said, not be upset with her. Things were resolved the next day. Caleb said that he tried to talk to her and she apologized for what had happened.

I am so grateful to be a mom! There is a funny conversation between Luke and Caleb that took place last week. It's a little "inappropriate", but funny nonetheless.

We all know how children fight, well our boys are a bit rougher than normal (hopefully it's normal for brothers, but not most kids with brains). Anyways, Caleb kicked Luke in the "privates" the other day while we were at Michael's getting some things for young women's. I did not see what happened but knew instantly when I turned around and heard Luke screaming and saw his legs buckled at the knees with hands cupped. He was screaming "I need to sit down, Caleb kicked me" over and over. There was no need talking to Caleb at this point, he knew he was in trouble. I left him in the aisle and picked Luke up (he is heavy now) and put him in the basket and walked away. I told Caleb to come find us when he was ready to apologize and be apart of our family again. Don't worry, I didn't go too far away.

But then when we got home and Luke was "examining" himself, he noticed that he had a purple bruise on it and then he freaked out again. He came into the kitchen crying "Mom, Caleb damaged me. I have 3 balls now". Sorry, but that's what he said.

Caleb had to write sentences when we got home. Hopefully that will never happen again!

And a safe update... he is now back to only 2 with no purple bruises anymore :)

On a lighter note:

Jace is really starting to move around now. I can put him in the front room and sprinkle puffs all over the floor and he is completely entertained. It's so cute. He still has little curl on the top of his head and we just think that he is adorable. Josh and Jace took a bath together the other day in the sink. It's cute!

Joshy is potty trained- officially! He is doing great with that. Almost too good... I put a diaper on him at night, but the last 3 nights he has woken up between 3-4 am crying that he has to go potty. And then, it takes about 45 minutes for him to get settled down again and go back to sleep. He thinks it's time to wake up and watch Thomas or Cars. No way! I am hoping that it's just temporary and will learn quickly to hold it during the night.

Kent and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary last month on January 15th! Crazy! My sister and niece were nice enough to come rescue us from our children for the night so that we could go out to Lake Las Vegas. We ate at the most wonderful Mexican restaurant in town. Seriously, we are talking High Class food-- Rubio's! Kent has it too easy! We did hit Yogurtland afterwards so he redeemed himself. He also took me to the mall and I bought a new pair of jeans. Yea! It was so great to get away, but just not long enough. We are planning an Alaskan cruise in Aug or Sept so that will be our real 10 year anniversary trip. I am already excited!

That reminds me that I need to post pics from our Disney World trip in November. I will do that the next time I sit down to play catch-up. It was so much fun, I need to get that done before I forget :)

A goal that I have for next year

I am sure that I am not the only one who feels that their kids say the funniest thing. Well, I have a goal this year that I am going to write down the silly things and sweet things that my boys say. I have conversations with them most days, that when Kent gets home I try to tell him word for word what one of them said to me. And then I always tell myself, I should write that down- that was really funny, cute, mean, etc. So... that is my goal. I know that I won't remember them if I don't write it down, so here goes!

The first of many, I am sure.

Kent asks Luke yesterday at Grandma's house, as he and Brayden are running down the hall:

"Luke what are you doing?"

His response: "Nothing that concerns you."

It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas

Just like the rest of the world, we are all really excited for Christmas to come! Our little family has been so blessed this year. We have the cutest baby brother in our home, which was a surprise that we had been anticipating for 9 months. We have a great family that live close, good friends, good home... but most importantly we have the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is the greatest of all blessings! I am truly thankful for all of that we are blessed with. So to go along with that... here are just some fun pictures of the boys and our family lately.

It snowed in the mountains 2 weeks ago and so we drove up to play in it. The boys loved it! Josh not so much and Jace, well I just took out of his carseat for a couple of snapshots. Poor kid is always stuck in that while I am taking pictures of the family having fun doing something.

And then there are some pictures of the boys helping us set up the Christmas tree. Josh has seemed to take a serious interest in Buzz Lightyeat lately. Needless to say... HE LOVES BUZZ! He wakes up asking to watch Buzz, he takes baths with his Buzz toy, he has Buzz underoos, I hear the name Buzz 20+ times a day-- it's so cute! He laughs at the movies and his giggle makes us all smile. Well, with that in mind... there is a picture of Caleb and Luke with Buzz from a few years ago at Disneyland in an ornament that we hung on the tree. Josh points it out everyday, and I took this picture while he was staring it. You will know the one. It's so cute!

Merry Christmas... 2 days to go!

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5418500508249602882" style="DISPLAY: block; Yesterday, it was just Luke and I in the car. I looked back at him and said "I love you". He repeated. Then I told him that sometimes when I say that, my eyes get wet. He said "because you want to cry"? I told him that I love him so much that it makes me want to cry. And then he asked me if I loved him when he was a baby just like Jace. Of course I said yes, and then explained to him that I love him even more now because I have been able to get to know him better. I know what he likes and what he is good at. I love being around him and just told him again how much I love him. Well later on before the boys were about to get in bed, Luke comes into the kitchen and looks sad. I asked him what was wrong and he said that he thinks that he is going to cry. I asked him why, but he just buries his head into my shoulder with sobs. I asked him if he was hurt or sad. And then he said
"I just love you so much!"

It was priceless :) I love this little boy of mine. Caleb was Harry Potter again and Josh used our 7 year old Buzz Lightyear costume! It was great :) We only had to buy Luke's Snake Eyes. We went up to the Cedar house again this year too with the Anderson family, like we did last year. There is a non-LDS church that sponsors a little Hallejuh festival that we discovered and so we took the kids over there for the games, cotton candy, bouncy house, slides and of course... candy. But once the sun went down, we were all done. It gets a little bit more chilly than we are used to in Vegas. We got about 4 trick or treaters at our door so over all, it was a pretty stress free day. The kids rode 4 wheelers and played outside. We love it up there! Here are some of our pictures that we took at our ward trunk or treat and up in Cedar.

Kent and I were BYU fans, since it was the night of the TCU game. What a waste of a costume! We had to go to Yogurtland that night just to make ourselves feel better. Kent actually didn't even watch the game. I had a young women spoil it & tell us the score. Thanks Kjersten! But atleast we have Yogurtland in our life to endulge ourselves in when things get rough!

Josh was completely terrified of this couple in our ward who dressed up in Star Wars Princess Leia and Jabba the Hut. It was sad & comical at the same time. How did this happen? I can't believe how fast this past year has gone by. Probably because I have been living in a daze the last few months, but still... it's crazy. I love this time of year though. The weather is cooler here already, it's wonderful! We're in the low 90's, haha!

I thought, since I have been a real slacker lately, that while Jace took a nap I would try to re-cap our summer and get back up to speed with things.

We had 2 family reunions. One in Utah for Kent's family. And the other in Panaca for my family. The boys always love getting together with their cousins and playing until all hours with them. For the 4th of July, we went to our little house in Cedar City. There is a fun parade down Main Street with that "old hometown" charm. Firetrucks, candy, flags and veterans... it was so fun to watch the boys enjoying it all!

And that is about it. I haven't taken very many pictures lately, mostly because I know that I don't have the time to spend making any scrapbook pages right now. If you haven't heard, Kent was called to be a seminary teacher. 6:00 am, everyday! I feel like I have another calling too! He has been studying alot, preparing lessons and trying to find ways to keep the kids interacting and awake. It's been a wonderful blessing in our home already though. The tv is off and we are reading our scriptures together instead. Of course, there is still time for BYU football games to watch, but that's about it. Kent will always find time for BYU... the last 2 weekends, we drove up to Provo for the games. Kent and I went solo without the boys for Florida (bummer game) and then this past weekend we took all the kids. What an adventure! Kent and I tried to listen to the "Work and the Glory" on cd over the screaming sounds of 3 obnoxious boys in the back. Jace is mostly sweet, so I won't include him in that category just yet. We had a good time together though.

School is in, yea! Caleb started 2nd grade and Luke is in Kindergarten. They are both at the same school and things are going well for them. Josh misses them during the day... and I miss having them to entertain him. I wanted to get Luke in full-day K, but couldn't get him in. It's been ok though, he has been a real helper with Josh and Jace at home. That's about it... all caught up!

First day of school:

4th of July:

Bulloch reunion:

Josh got into chocolate milk... just like his brothers when they were the same age! This is of Luke, being Luke: silly, in disguise as a super hero (ninja in this case), and just plain cute! I haven't had much time lately to sit down and scrap, blog, facebook, or anything else that I enjoy. I get moments of quiet time, but my idea of relaxing at this point in my life is... a tall glass of chocolate milk, sitting on the couch in my pjs, and just watching TV (preferably "so you think you can dance" but most likely sports center).

So this is just one of the many pages that I would like to do. Caleb asked me a very profound question the other day about why I scrapbook. He said "mom why do spend so much time scrapbooking about me, Luke and Josh?" Then I had to think about it... why do I spend my life and my time scrapbooking about their life? Hmm... Just another way that I can play the martyr card--- I have devoted my life to you. Happy?! No, I do it because I love them so much :)

I took the boys up to Lee Canyon today for a picnic, but we got poured on by the rain. And the lightening was a little bit frightening so we didn't stay too long. We had to eat our lunch in the car because of the rain, but it was still fun.

Caleb and Josh have been sharing the fever this week. Poor Caleb, he is such a sweet little patient. He doesn't complain, he just gently asks for more medicine and then falls back asleep. Not Josh though! He has been attached to my hip for 4 days now- I am ready to lose it!

That is the most recent excitement about our life. We had a reunion last month that I will post pictures of when I get those pages done.

Living in a Whirlwind...But Life is Great!

I know I have been a little "out of it" lately, but can you blame me? Having 4 kids is no easy task, but I love it!

Jace William Wagner was born on May 1st. He is such a sweet baby and we all adore him, even Josh. I was a little worried that Josh, still being our baby himself, would feel threatened by him and would want to lash out... but he has been wonderful with the baby. It's Lukers that has thown me for the loop. He is moody, naughty, and having a hard time. He loves the baby, but has seemed to forget that there are rules, parents, manners, and kindness. He is still a good kid, we are just butting heads right now and I am just trying to find my nice Luke again. I keep asking him when "Nice Luke" is coming home from vacation.

Caleb finished 1st grade during my break from the blogging world. He learned so much this year and seems to be growing up faster than ever. He loves reading and is interested in those Magic Tree House books. I bought him the set off ebay a few weeks ago and he hasn't stopped reading them since. It's great!

Luke is riding a bike now with no training wheels. It's very exciting and he is so proud of himself. We even bought him a new bike to celebrate his accomplishment! It scares me though when he goes sailing down the street. Kent gave him a "turbo-push" a few days ago and I can still picture him whobbling a bit before his big crash--- ouch! He is ok though, he just cried and said "dad, you gave me a heart attack". Me too~

Josh is learning to talk a little bit more. The grounds were locked and so we just sat on the lawn outside the gates. I took a few pics of the boys playing. It was fun to talk about the temple with them and the importance of going there some day. Kent and I listened to Elder Bednar's CES talk to the young single adults from the May fireside. If you haven't heard it yet, do! It was perfect! We drove up the mountain and took the boys fishing at Duck Creek. It started raining on us, but it was still so much fun. I got some really cute pics of them trying to catch a fish, although it would be a miracle to catch a fish while their little brother Josh was throwing rocks in the creek the whole time.

What else has been going on besides having a baby, adjusting to the lack of sleep while the demands of raising 4 boys wears you out, not to mention the added loads of laundry that pile up around your house (and dirty diapers)!?! I am not complaining or saying that I am ungrateful for all that I have, but it has been an "interesting" transition these last few weeks. I am actually surprised, looking back, that Kent came home at night from work. But I got a piece of advice from a friend of mine... mother ot double what I have... and she told me that I cannot do everything and to stop trying. She said that my only & most important commodity in my life is my energy. So if I spend my energy worrying about my house, the laundry, running errands and everything else but my kids... then I am going to take my frustration out on my family. She said that is why the Lord has counseled mothers (if they can) to not work. Because they will spend all their energy at work and then come home and "bark" at their children and their husband. So some very wise advise from a mother with lots more experience than me. She also told me that she learned a long time ago that there is no point in yelling, it doesn't get done any faster. I have been thinking about all of this lately and have really been trying to spend my energy on my family and not on other things. I think it's working, I don't want divorce my husband anymore, haha!

So that is another quick update on us... we are loving life right now. And I am lovin' sleep every chance I can get!

Scrappin' Like a Mad Woman

As you can see... I will get another film strip up of my pages from last year so that everyone can see all the fun things that these 3 silly boys do.

Oh, and I am having my baby on May 1st...YEA! 4 more weeks, I cannot be more excited ( I am huge and uncomfortable ).

Another month gone by...another month?

I know, I know... I am pathetic! What can I say? It's a good thing that the title of this post was already saved in the archives and all I had to do was hit the space bar and it popped up. Yes, another month gone by and here I am again. Completely behind on everything :)

I have to admit though, I just haven't been in the "mood" to do anything. I am 7 1/2 months pregnant and just feel like any free time that I get goes to laying on the couch and doing nothing (when I can actually get free time)!

But here is another brief synopsis of our month.:

Me- I lost the diamond to my wedding ring the weekend of Valentine's day (it was not intentional, although I have to admit I was wanting another wedding ring one of these days). Kent didn't really want to get me anything for a while, but here I am walking around with 3 kids and pregnant again... with no wedding ring. I was embarrassed and made him get me something else. It is just a simple little diamond band, but I like it. Thanks, babe!

I have a date for delivery- Friday, May 1st! Yea! It hasn't quite hit me just yet that I am going to have 4 kids, but I am sure that it's only a matter of time. I better adjust quickly because this baby was not planned properly- I will only have a month before they will all be home for summer break. Sounds fun! We are all really excited to know what we are having though. No names yet either.

Kent- Still loves being the dad and the dentist. Kent's post will be short because he does the same thing everyday in my world. He gets up early and comes home late. He turned 31 though last month and that was fun. Last year for his birthday we were in Hawaii. Too bad we weren't there again.

Boys- Caleb and Luke have both started baseball this month. I am getting accustomed to my place in life- on the bench watching my boys play sports. We just finished basketball and now we are into baseball and t-ball 2 nights a week. Tuesdays are not too bad because I am only at the ball fields for a little over an hour because they practice at the same time. Thursday though, ha... more like 3 hours. Wasn't there a general conference talk about good- better- best and what our families priorities should be? Umm... sounds familiar? But they love it and I love watching them run around and have fun. At least they are just doing what boys love to do- play with balls, run in the dirt and have their parents there to watch them with pride.

We had a recent bloody nose episode the other night while the boys were supposed to be going to bed. Caleb and Luke usually play for a few minutes before going to bed (like most brothers) and then after we give them enough threats they will finally give up and clonk out. But this past Sunday night, they just wouldn't stop. Luke comes screaming down the hall and once he gets to our bedroom we see that he has a bloody nose. "Caleb kicked me" is all we heard for the next few minutes. I find blood drips down the length of the hallway and Caleb hiding in his closet. We did get a little upset with them, but underneath Kent and I were trying not to smile and laugh at the situation. We had just had FHE at Grandma Wagner's house on being kind! They apologized, hugged and went to bed. Something sweet to go along with the story: Caleb told me that he had prayed to Heavenly Father already to ask for forgiveness and promised him that he would never kick his brother again in the face. I thought that was nice. It would have been better to promise never to kick your brother anywhere, but I guess he knew that wouldn't be realistic.

I will try to post some pictures of our family trip to Sea World and Palm Springs this past month. I just need to get them off my camera. I have been trying to finish up my 2008 scrapbook and so I haven't even wanted to look at the 2009 pictures because then I will just feel more behind. I am almost done though and would like to definitely get that finished and bound before the baby gets here. I have over 60 pages and so it will be a fun one to have. Most of the pages have been on my computer over a year and so it will be fun to see them again.

That's about all I can do for one day. I will try to catch up, but if not... talk to you in another month gone by!

Another month gone by...

I will try to get somewhat caught up today, so let me think about what has been going on with us lately.

LUKE
Preschool: Luke loves his teacher, Mrs. McIntyre. Fortunately this coming week we get a chance to redeem Luke as the leader of treats. A few weeks ago, when Luke was the leader and he was in charge of bringing the snack, he wanted fruit salad. He likes it at Grandma Wagner's house with the whipped cream and fruit. So, that is what he said that he wanted to take to share with all his friends. It had kiwi, grapes, blueberries, bananas... yummy, right? Well, when he got home and I asked him how his friends liked the fruit salad, he started to cry and said that only his teacher ate it. He said that it was the dumbest snack ever! I felt so bad to see that his feelings were actually hurt over this :) I explained that not everyone likes the same things and that is ok. He is leader this week and I will just take a guess he won't ever be taking fruit salad again!

Recent Story: His primary teacher was just recently called as the primary president and so she didn't have a chance to buy him, along with his CTR 5 class, a CTR ring that she had told them about. So on Monday a.m. right after Caleb went to school, we had to make a trip to the book store to get him one. He has been wearing all week long and loves it! It's very cute. We had to buy Caleb one too, of course.

CALEB
School: Caleb is doing really well in school. He also likes his teacher, Mrs. Morgan. He is reading Harry Potter right now with Kent. Every night they are up reading and Caleb loves it! They are about 1/2 way through the first book. Caleb has been acting like a little teacher for Luke too, in trying to help him learn how to read. When Luke brings home his sight word books from preschool, Caleb helps him with it. Now, don't think "that is so sweet"! It is... for about 2 minutes! And then Caleb gets impatient with Luke and they start fighting about why Luke doesn't know the word the. It's either they are best friends or enemies :)

JOSH
What a little monkey we have in our house! He loves to climb on everything and get into everything. I bought a new door knob for the pantry this week that locks and will have to wait for my sanity to return until Kent can put it on for me. The bottom 2 shelves in my pantry are rendered useless right now. I have cleaned up way too many dumped boxes of cereal, raisins, crackers, etc... more than Caleb and Luke combined, seriously! This kid is quick! And he climbed onto my kitchen table this week and broke my fruit bowl that I got from our wedding (it was really nice and I did like it). He can climb out of his pack n' play (yes, my poor child does not have a crib- we are cheap). But lately, he has been staying put when he wakes up. I don't know if he got hurt climbing out of it once or if he forgot that he could do it. Either way, I like him in it and am fine with him not climbing out of that right now.

KENT & BECCA
We took Kent's parents out to dinner last night and to see Jerry Seinfeld. It was a lot of fun! We went to Joe's Stone Crab (been there before in Chicago with the Chapman's) and it was just as good (and expensive) as I remember. Jerry was really funny- and had good clean jokes. There was another guy that was his opening act, and he was funny, but a little yucky at times. But with Kent and his dad being hardcore Seinfeld fans, they loved it!

Last weekend we took my 7 Laurels on a whirlwind trip to Cedar City, Brian Head, Pine Valley and St. George. It was fun, spiritual, and exhausting all at the same time. We had 2 early morning wake-up calls at 5 am on Friday and Saturday to be able to make it all happen. So by the time that we got home, we were in bed asleep by 8:30 pm on Saturday. We drove up to Cedar Friday and went to Brian Head to play in the snow. We attempted to go sledding, but the spot we found looked like it would work, but it ended up being 3 feet of slush. It was quite the ordeal to sled on that. So after about 30 minutes of fun with the girls freezing, we went to the lodge and went swimming in their indoor pool and hot tub. Had dinner at our place in Cedar and then drove to Pine Valley to spend the night. Woke up at 5 am again to make it to the St. George temple for baptisms for the dead, watched the new Gordon B. Hinckley video at the visitor's center, took pictures, had a fattening lunch and then drove home in silence (besides the occasional snore for one of the girls). Fun, huh? I will post some pictures of this later on when I get them off my camera.

Now I have been sick!

Not much to say really, except that I have been sick all week! Josh had it & then I got it... the cough, congestion, sore throat, etc. I had been hunched over my humidifier everynight since Sunday and even burned out the motor on it. I need to go buy another one now. It has been a miserable week. I didn't think that I could take anything, but finally called the doctor on Wednesday to see if there was something-- they said that I could have been taking the Tylenol cold & sinus this whole time, ahh! Fortunately, I have a friend (thanks Lauren) who distributes way too much medicine and she let me have some of her extra boxes of all the Tylenol products. I have been able to sleep a little bit better and function a bit more the last few days. I think that I am on the mend now though and should be full steam come next week.

Over the New Year's weekend our little family went up to our house in Cedar City. It was really fun to get away for a few days and just do nothing! The kids played upstairs in the attic. we watched movies, took naps, and went sledding a few times. I will post some pics later when I get them off my camera. It was great!

And this weekend I have plans to (unfortunately) move my office into our bedroom to give the kids a playroom. Is it possible that I am nesting at only 5 months? Well, if it's not that... I can't stand having toys in every room and in every closet around this house. I need a room to contain them and then close the door when I don't want to see the mess. So, poor Kent will be slaving away this weekend to move everything over and then I can get to work of organizing all their toys. It should be fun.

Maybe, if I get really daring, I will take some pics of the transition.

Josh is Sick

Poor Josh! It has been really sad the last few days... Josh has had a pretty bad cough. It started on Sunday, but then yesterday it was just getting worse. I called the doctor around 4:30 and they called in the Rx. He has had 4 treatments and seems to be feeling a lot better now. I took him to the doctor this morning and he got another steriod Rx to last through the weekend. He is so sweet though, he just sits on my lap and breathes in the steam. He doesn't move, he doesn't scream, or anything. Just sits, it's so cute! I hope that he feels better soon.

Quick Re-cap (part 2)

I survived the death choke of Darth Vader, I am such a cool mom! The young women in my ward and I helped out with the Nevada Diabetes Assoc holiday party. And while we were there helping the kids to make the crafts, the characters from Star Wars came to pay the kids a visit. I had to take a picture with them to show Caleb and Luke. They loved it! They were amazed that Darth Vader didn't "get me"! I have a cute pic of my young women too, they had a good time helping out, posing with clone troopers and screaming at the impossible acts of the very talented magician who was there. Where do these kids hear this stuff from? But the party was a success, with lots of good food and family entertainment with the gift exchange. I know, what if it's a girl? Then I won't have any stuff... it's okay! It will be alright. Babies sleep in jammies forever, I have plenty of those. And Kent can always run to Target if I need him, right? Plus, I have all of you amazing friends who will send me pink later on because you are so happy that I have finally produced a female! I am excited to wait, even though I never thought that I could do it and always thought that people who do this are weird... so we are having just a baby. We met up with our good friends since surviving dental school together-- the Weaver's and their 3 kids. It was cold down there, but no snow. The train ride was fun with hot cocoa, cookies, the story of the Polar Express, singing carols, and of course- Santa Clause. We traveled to the North Pole and got to meet the real Santa! The boys went sledding with some friends and then Kent took them up to the park when he got home from work and they built a huge snowman-- I am talking like 9 feet tall. I have to get the pics from my brother. He is so cute in his uniform. He loves to practice and thinks that basketball is so cool! He doesn't really have a position, it's more just for fun and who can get the ball and shoot it. It's kinda comical watching them out there. It's a good thing that the refs are very lenient- it's just foul after foul after travel, etc... not that I know anything about b-ball, but this is just fun to watch!

Just a short catch up...

Wow, has it really been a month since my last post? That is really sad-- for me too, there has been a lot going on and I want to stay on top of things.

Here is what to expect within the next few days of me "playing catch-up":

Luke's preschool- pajama day & Christmas party at Peter Piper Pizza (he got a present from Santa off his list!) But poor Caleb didn't get anything- explanation of why later.

Caleb is a baller now! Basketball that is... he plays for the Irish. I can't say that he is the best kid on the team, but he is the cutest kid in uniform!

I am the coolest mom ever because I saw Darth Vader and he was "choking" me and somehow I survived!

making of our annual family tradition of the Wagner Gingerbread house

the Polar Express... that was great! The kids met the real Santa and they each received their own first gift of Christmas... Yes, thank you Santa for the bells, 3 of them! Our family loved to listen to them the whole train ride home!

Bulloch Family Christmas party- that is always full of surprises and weird white elephant gifts

SNOW in Las Vegas...yes, lots of it! We made a snowman and everything! The kids had so much fun playing in the snow- I have some really great pics of this event, since it probably won't happen again for another 30 years!

I went to the Doctor and the Doctor says... It wasn't quite the "get away weekend" that everyone loves with their spouse, but it was fun. Kent was finishing up a dental ce course there and was gone from 7 am- 6 pm. It was nice for me though, because I got to sleep in every morning until about 10 and then would meet him for lunch. It was fabulous! I did get most of our Christmas shopping done though and so that makes it a pretty productive weekend, despite all the extra hours I used to sleep.

Kent and his dad had their first big open house at the dental office. It has been a little hectic around our home the last few weeks getting ready for this and I am so glad that it is over, finally! Kent has been working pretty late trying to get things organized for this and so I am glad that he can hopefully make it home before the boys are in bed and we can have a dad around the house again. It was a success though and seemed to stir up some more business for them, which is always good...especially right now when things are getting tough financially!

The boys are as busy as ever. Caleb is doing really well in school and loves his teacher. I let him ditch school on Monday because he woke up "pretending" to have a stomach ache. And then when I got it out of him that he wasn't really sick, he just said "we haven't been able to hang out since you were gone, can I just stay home with you today"? That was enough... I remember my mom not really fighting me on those days when I just didn't want to go to school. She would just let me stay with her. And so, Caleb hung out with us all day. But the freedom soon turned into boredom and around noon he was asking when his cousins would be home from school. He wanted to play with someone, but all his friends were at school. He hasn't asked again this week to stay home. I guess I didn't do a very good job at entertaining him!

Luke is being grumpy this week. Seriously... there is something wrong with that munchkin and I need to figure it out, quick! I am sure there is something stemming from facts that Kent has been gone a lot lately and he has just had grouchy pregnant mom to deal with & we were gone over the weekend. But I hope that it's just that. I had to warn his pre-k teacher today to watch out-- he is in a mood! Of course I love him, but I have to be honest... besides having male pms, Luke is the leader in pre-k this week and has been able to bring snacks of his choice. Today is was marshmellows and bananas. Yum!

Josh is really sweet lately! I think he grew while we were gone because both Kent and I noticed that he looked bigger. That makes me sad. He loves to drop things, on purpose of course, and say "uh-oh". He waves bye and has started to cuddle again. Just a little bit, but I will take it. Since he has almost always been the best sleeper that I have had, he doesn't cuddle-- he just goes straight to bed. And so he has never really ever fallen asleep on me since baby time. But last week at the park, he cuddled up to my shoulder and zonked out! I loved it... I should have taken him home and just put him down for his nap, but decided to eat it up and just let him sleep on me instead. Too cute!

I HOPE THAT WE DON'T FORGET THIS

On Sunday, November 9th we had stake conference. Elder Kikuchi from the Seventy was here presiding. He was wonderful and it was inspiring to listen to him share his testimony of the Savior. But at the end of conference, Kent took the boys up to the stand to shake Elder Kikuchi's hand. And since they were wearing their new suits for the first time, they looked like little missionaries. Elder Kikuchi shook their hand and then whispered something in their ears. Then he did the pinky promise with each of them. They told us later that they had promised him that they would stay worthy to serve a mission some day when they are 19. Wow! Isn't that great? I hope that they will always remember that promise that they made to this general authority, but not just him... I hope that these little boys of mine will always live their life worthy to fulfill their committment to their Heavenly Father by serving Him on their missions to prepare them to serve Him the rest of their lives. So here are the pictures from that day of our little future Elder Wagners.

Josh was screaming inside the house while I was taking their pictures on the porch.

He just looks cute!

Family Pictures

Here are just a few pictures from our recent family photo shoot. We try to take family pictures once a year so that I can atleast be in the pictures atleast ONCE a year, right? I picked some of my favorites to share, but am only going to give you one family shot. I didn't realize until after we were done that I had lost an earring. I figured that I lost it somewhere during the middle of taking pictures, but once I got the CD back from the guy... no, I had no earring from the very beginning. I am a little annoyed that he never picked up on that during the 300+ photos he took- -HELLO... I only have one dangly earring---it's not the 80's anymore, that doesn't look good! But ohe well! I know, I know... I should call him back and tell him that I want a redo, but I want Kent to do that :)

I am actually quiet surprised that any of the pictures turned out. It was miserable getting there that afternoon. ALL the boys (including Kent) where complaining about their outfits... "my shirt is itchy, I don't want to have my hair combed, why do we have to take pictures...blah, blah, blah". I don't think any of us wanted to be around each other, but we smiled and pretended to be this little happy family. For that, I am glad that I like the pictures of my little monsters and can now say that it was worth it!

All the big boys!

You are just too cool Caleb! I HATE fast food. I just do. I don't know why, but I just don't like it. I can eat Subway and In n' Out (like every 6 months), but fast food... no thanks! But this past week, I was driving home from getting my haircut and I was starving. I really hadn't had much to eat that day and so I called Kent to see what he ate for dinner. It was nothing that sounded good to me and so I told him that I was really craving a bean burrito from Taco Bell. He was shocked. Just 2 days earlier I had called him from Costco and told him that I was eating a hotdog and he couldn't believe that either. I don't like hotdogs, but since it was Hebrew National, kosher and blessed and all that, I figured I could talk myself into it and gave in to the craving:) But Taco Bell! I am sorry for all of you who love this fast food chain, but I just don't eat this crap. I tried to come up with how many years it has been since I have eaten there and I think it is something like 12 years... no joke! But what do you think I did? Yep... one bean burrito, one burrito supreme and one taco please, to go! And it was actually pretty good. I am not promising that I will do it again, but it was definitely satisfying. I just hope that I don't get a "Big Mac" craving... that would be bad. I really don't want to have to eat one of those! My butt grew though last week. I wonder why?

When BYU Loses... we ALL suffer in this house!

Wow! What a disappointment! Can you even believe that I have to blog about BYU's loss to TCU on Thursday night? 32-7... that is ridiculous!

If this loss was not so intertwined with the feelings in our home, I wouldn't even mention it. But, oh they are! Kent has been out of town for the past 4 days in Scottsdale, AZ at a dental thingy and everytime, since the loss, that I have talked to him, he sounds depressed. haha... I am frustrated but I seem to cope better with my grief than he does. He gets home this afternoon and I will let you know how he is doing. We appreciate all the sympathy cards and prayers that we have received at this time on his behalf :)

Keep them coming!

Pumpkin Patch

Luke had a field trip today to the pumpkin patch with his pre-school class. I stopped counting how many times he went down the slide that they had blown up. He loved that and the swirling swing. He went on the swing 3 times in a row... I would have been sick for sure, but he must have a stomach of steel! Josh had fun too walking around and discovering all pumpkins.

The weather is so perfect right now in Vegas. It was freezing this past weekend, but now we have the windows open and can actually be outside for most of the day. I love it! We had a fun time this morning. Here is just a little picture that I put together for the blog. When I get around to the actual scrapbook page, I will post it. I am a little behind, so who knows when I will do it! All of the scrapbook pages on the slide are of 2007. I might make another slide of all the 2008 pages that I have done or I will just start posting them as I get them finished. But here are the fun pictures that I took today. You can see how silly that green swing was making Luke-- he's a little "loopy" from doing it so much!

POST COMMENT ISSUES...

Sorry guys--- my Blog has a mind of it's own...figures! It was a close game, but the Cougs pulled through with a victory. We had a lot of fun being tourists in Seattle with our very own tour guides-- Ronnie always does a great job at that! We took a ferry across the lake for dinner one night and got back to our car to realize that the parking garage was closed. Then on our last night we stayed up playing Ticket to Ride until almost 4 am . Things got a little crazy from being up so late, but it we had a great time hanging out, talking and playing to see who could create the longest train! Caleb and Luke had so much fun being with Maddie and Beckham. It was so sad to leave! But we are excited to see them again at the Turpin Reunion next June.

There is so much excitement in these 2 pictures... I love it! One is of baby Josh being tipped upside down by Kent at the Seattle Aquarium and the other is of Ronnie and Kent when BYU blocked the kick during the last few seconds of the game. Jodee and I were so glad that they won. That meant happy husbands for the rest of the trip! Seriously... we have been around both of them when they lose and it's not fun. Thanks for such a great trip Chapman's! We are already looking forward to the Hawaii game in 2013... It's about time that BYU plays someone that we want to go. I am Going to Blog!

Can you believe that I have been "pressured" into creating a blog and entering this new realm of digital scrapbooking? I have talked to so many of my friends and they just can't believe that I am not a blogger...but I am going to try to be. I decided that since I spent the time to figure out my photoshop, I can take the time to learn how to blog. So here it goes. I am not going to promise anything though. I will do my best, but between refereeing 3 boys (and something on the way due 5/9/2009), carpools, personal chef, my calling as YW president in our ward and all the other odd jobs that we moms tackle...I just hope that I can keep up with it. A big part of the reason I am going into this a little hesitant is that I know that this could just be "one more thing" that gets put on my plate that I am not able to keep up with. I am turning into Kent in the way that if I am going to do something, I want to give 100%. So I will try... I am excited though to get started and it's thanks to all of you peer-pressuring blogger fanatics out there that I am doing this! haha...

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://wagnerfamilyofboys.blogspot.com/2008/08/can-you-believe-that-i-have-been.html' title='I Have Surrendered...
